Capel Privacy Policy

This site is owned and operated by Capel Incorporated. Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. At Capel, we want to make your experience online satisfying and safe.

Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This Privacy Policy discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

Collection of Information

We gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and click stream data. We use this tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and how well each page performs overall. We do not correlate that aggregate information with information about individual users and we do not track what individual users read.

We use cookies on this site. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. We set a persistent cookie to store personally identifiable information that may be useful on a repetitive basis when you visit our site. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “Help” file. If you remove cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site will be limited.

If you purchase a product from us, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date) that we can use for billing purposes and to fill your orders.

We may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.

Use of Information

We will use your personally identifiable information to personalize your experience on our site, to process your orders and applications and to generally manage our site. In addition, we will use your personally identifiable information to communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We may send you information on promotions and we will send you service-related announcements when it is necessary to do so.

We may use third parties to fulfill orders, to process credit card transactions, to help us analyze our website and to assist us in marketing, and we will share personally identifiable information as necessary for the third parties to provide those services. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

In the event Capel goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, we have the right to assign your personally identifiable information to the other party to the transaction.

Children

We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Links to Other Sites

The Capel sites contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by Capel, including the sites of independent dealers from whom you may purchase Capel products. The Capel Privacy Policy applies only to information collected on Capel sites and not to information collected on these linked sites. You should read the privacy statements of each linked site to fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of your personally identifiable information on that site.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We have policies and procedures in place to protect personally identifiable information, both during transmission and once we receive it. While we consider these policies and procedures to be adequate, there is still a risk that your personally identifiable information could be misappropriated. No method of transmission over the Internet, nor method of electronic storage, is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this Privacy Policy so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently.
